This came up on my FB feed this morning and it rubs me the wrong way, but I don't know how to put it into words, and I love the person who posted it dearly.

Someone have any thoughts or ways to express why it irks me?



It came with the caption: "If we're going to be up in arms about equal rights for all human beings, let's be consistent about it...."

She's a big pro-lifer, extremely Christian, but not in an annoying way. Like, she spends her pro-life energy helping pregnant women in her church find support or finding adoption options for them if they want, as opposed to just telling them they did bad.

She wouldn't mind me being a voice of dissension on her page, and is always up for reasonable discussion instead of 'well the Bible says this'.

eta: I didn't select a mood and it came up as 'pissed off'. Does your mood select itself now?!

Gay adults have full status as human beings, while a fetus doesn't. A fetus isn't equal to me until it is an autonomous person. If a pregnancy threatened my life I would likely terminate it and it wouldn't at all feel the same as if I were to, for example, strangle Delia.
