I thought it would also be nice to do a monthly round up of things I've read and watched
MUSIC
This month I listened to these new albums:
- Stray Kids - Noeasy
- Kasey Musgraves - Star-Crossed
- Halsey - If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power
- Ateez - Zero Fever, Pt 3
- Lorde - Solar Power
My favourites are currently Domino by Stray Kids and Not Too Late by Ateez. I found Solar Power to be a let down, it completely did not mesh with my covid lockdown vibe and lacked melodies.
And these albums were new to me:
- Kasey Musgraves - Golden Hour
- Third Eye Blind - Our Bande Apart
Last.fm tells me that I'm still listening to a lot of Justin Bieber's 'Justice' (I love Ghost), as well as STAY by The Kid Laroi. Placebo also released Beautiful James which sounds really old school Placebo so I like that too.
BOOKS
I haven't finished any books this month, I'm currently reading Dune, as well as Boy Swallows Universe.
I also have Eileen Chong's A Thousand Crimson Blooms, which is poetry about being a Chinese American mum and so far I've loved it. I have Lucy Van's 'The Open' too, and she's a Vietnamese Australian but I'm not sure how I'm going to with that.
MOVIES
This month we watched all of the Harry Potter movies and are doing the MCU with the kids. Outside of that I don't think I've seen anything else.
Captain Marvel and Thor 2: The Dark World were new to me.
TV
I've been watching a lot of Street Dance of China, but the episodes are 3.5 hours long and it's exhausting.
RuPaul's Drag Race UK also started.
The final season of Brooklyn 99 came and went and the last episode was very good, they worked in all the old characters very well and it was a fitting send off. The whole last season was a little off, tonally, given t hat no one likes cops anymore so they tried to be 'woke' but it was difficult and a tiny bit shoehorned in.
We also have been watching 8 out of 10 cats does countdown and Taskmaster, UK comedians better than all other comedians imo
Otherwise a lot of my TV time is also taken up by Run BTS and BTS in the Soop, as well as F1 racing
Melbourne won the Grand Final, we have watched many replays
