Day 01 - A show that should never have been canceled
Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
Day 03 - Your favorite new show (aired this TV season)
Day 04 - Your favorite show ever
Day 05 - A show you hate
Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Day 08 - A show everyone should watch

Day 09 - Best scene ever
There are so many great scenes in shows like Community, Game of Thrones and Scrubs.
The scene that made the most impact on me emotionally (that didn't occur say, in a season finale) was actually a quiet one. The X-Files, Season 7, Episode 17. Sounds innocuous. It was an episode that Gillian Anderson wrote and directed. Nothing groundbreaking was supposed to happen, just a Scully-centric episode for a change. I don't remember any ads for it. First scene opens and Scully is getting dressed, washing her hands in front of a mirror. She leaves the bedroom, and the camera pans back to the bed, a body half naked under the bedsheets... and it's Fox Mulder.
Omg.
Okay, seven and half freaking seasons of the most Unresolved Freaking Sexual Tension of all time and THIS IS HOW IT COMES ABOUT? OFF CAMERA? BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS IT? NO ONE SAID ANYTHING. WHAT?! HOW? EXPLAAAAAIIIIIIIIIN.
I died, people. Midway through my senior year in high school, I died.

Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving
Spartacus is probably obvious. Prince of Tennis is probably the big one. It's a long running anime where junior high students play tennis. And they seem to have superpowered tennis moves that defy physics. A tennis match could span across several episodes. How could I ever be interested in a bunch of animated 11-13 year olds that do nothing but run and jump around? My brother used to watch it a lot and it even *sounded* annoying. Yeah, well, I ended up watching all you know, 200 episodes or whatever (they've started new episodes recently but I haven't watched them), I watched the live action movies, the live action Chinese tv drama. I read the manga, I watched the stage musicals. A LOT OF STAGE MUSICALS. I then watched a whole bunch of movies with the stage musical actors in them. I watched other animes because they featured the voice actors from the Prince of Tennis anime. I bought merchandise. I friended a lot of LJ friends in the fandom. I read a lot of fanfic. I made plushies. IT TOOK OVER MY LIFE.

Day 11 - A show that disappointed you
Of all the shows that start off strongly and then degenerate into a mass of WTF-IS-THIS-SHIT, two stick out in my mind the most. Mostly because I really loved them at the start, and two because they turned bad so quickly. This is no jump-the-shark-in-the-5th-season stuff, this is WTF-ery at its finest.
The first is Glee. Oh, Glee, how great you were. How humorous and emotional, how groundbreaking and inclusive, how FUN. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't watch an episode without wanting to throw something at my TV in rage at the failure I was watching. Story failure, character failure (the worst, none of the characters stayed in character, remembered past deeds or relationships, or they would go through some sort of growth, only to regress), a lot of -isms failure (worse in a show that wants to preach various things to people), I began to watch just for the songs, then I was just watching for Rachel's wardrobe, then I just gave up.
The second is Heroes. The first season was one of the most exciting seasons of TV I've ever seen. I have no idea what the second season was about.

Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale

I still watch Glee (it probably helps that I wasn't overly in love with its first season) but yeah it is a shell of its former self. SO. MUCH.WTF-ery. A thing called character continuity does not exist on that show.

Heroes started off really good, but yeah, don't know what happened there.

The character continuity drives me bonkers! I'd rather static characters that never learn anything - like in some sitcoms - than characters that actually contradict themselves.

I really like reading this meme, because you know more tv than anyone I know. :) I agree about Glee. I was kind of skeptical when it first started because Ryan Murphy was producing and look what he did with Nip/Tuck. That show started off interesting and I had to stop watching when it just became too ridiculous.... crazy plots (husband kills their dog because he figured out that wife was letting dog give her oral sex by spreading peanut butter on her genitals--- WTF? on a plastic surgery show?) and no character continuity. So I think it's a Ryan Murphy thing. I really liked the first two seasons of Glee, but now I can't even watch it anymore because of all it's WTFness.

Also, loved the first season of Heroes, and then yes... the second season was like a whole different show.

The shows I am really, really loving now are both on FX--- Justified and the Americans. You should watch if you can.

That's crazy - I hardly watch any TV. Maybe an hour or two a week at the very most! Adult TV, that is. I'm just very into whatever I watch, and I seem to absorb what's going on in other people's shows via osmosis?
Like, I cried when I watched the Buffy finale, even though I had seen only two episodes, simply because Buffy had been in my life for such a long time due to everyone else watching it.

What are Justified and the Americans about?

I can tell you get really into the tv you do watch, so you know a lot about it.

Justified is in it's 4th season I think..... Timothy Olyphant (OMG! so hot!) is a US Marshal who is back in his small town Kentucky hometown. He is a lawman now who likes to shoot people, and has to continually tangle with his former friends and family who may do illegal things. The writing and acting are really, really good.

The Americans is brand new.... Keri Russell (she's badass) and Matthew Rhys are soviet spies living in the US. It's set in 1981, at the height of the Soviet/US Cold War. They are married and have children as part of their cover story. It juxtaposes them trying to be parents with them doing spy stuff. Really good storylines, really good action..
