BLOC PARTY HAS ANNOUNCED THEIR FIRST SHOWS SINCE 2009. They've updated their website! Their Facebook! They have an Official Tumblr! Stuff is happening! I'm all nauseous with excitement.

I had a bit of a breakdown a couple of months ago when I thought that Bloc Party had definitely broken up and Adam had to try and comfort me with 'hey, at least they didn't just peter out and become shit' but that didn't make me feel any better.

Has anyone used the word 'maudlin' in real life? I keep seeing it everywhere and it's a beautiful word that captures a mood perfectly but I have never heard it being said, or in a film, or in the newspaper. Or even in novels. Just in fan fiction. Lots and lots of it.

Maybe it's not an Australian thing? I want to start using it! 'how are you feeling today, Tina?' 'oh, maudlin.'
