Jul. 20th, 2011 10:19 pmLiam's been demanding 4-or so breastfeeds during the night these past 3 nights. He usually only feeds once, max twice, and for 20 minutes at a time. These past 3 nights his feeds have gone on for 40 minutes. I pull away at about 25 minutes and he pterodactyl shrieks. (How do we know pterodactyls make those sounds anyway?)
I'm wrecked. Not just the sleep deprivation but breastfeeding takes a lot out of me, and by the third breastfeed I am so dizzy I can't even move my head without the world spinning.
Hopefully it's a growth spurt - Liam's gone from the 90th percentile to the 30th or so so I'd like to see him put some length on.
I tried to increase his solids but he doesn't want to eat any more than he usually does, he just wants more milk.
He's been developing a lot lately - he's rocking back and forth on his hands and knees and getting very frustrated at his lack of movement. He's pulling up on everything he can get his hands on. He's babbling a lot.. lots of BABABABA sounds and MUMUMUMA sounds.
He slept soundly this afternoon so I was able to duck out to the shops and buy some groceries and some boots! Knee high black leather boots with no heel. I have brown ones that I wear to death but I don't wear anything else that's brown (I don't even know why I have them) and it's sad but I can't even negotiate heels anymore :( I was so excited to wear heels again after I gave birth and I just.. can't do it. Boots are awesome in Winter and I'm pleased I found a leather pair. They were 50% off, so $115 down from $230. They're the 'Airflex' brand which is a comfort shoe, I think, I have a pair of brogue heels in that brand and they're the comfiest heels ever made. Colour me pleased.
$115 is not an insignificant amount of money though - even if I do end up wearing these for years - so I told Adam they were his birthday present to me. 29 this Saturday. Sheesh.
It's funny, I think $115 is a fair amount of money to spend on shoes, but I have stopped batting an eyelid when people pay $4000 for handbags. So many of my friends/peers spend that kind of money that I don't even think it's weird anymore.
I also spent $100 on clothes at yesstyle.com - it's an Asian clothing site, kinda like Forever21 for quality, so I got about 6 different things. Everything is one size only, Asian-sized, so hopefully I am that size. Haha, they put up specs for the models wearing the clothes and I've yet to see a model top 50kg.
Here is a photo of Liam saying 'BAHAHAHAHA!'
