Valentine's Day

wickedcherubWhat are your thoughts on Valentine's Day?
Adam hates it for all the obvious reasons, and every January he tells me that we're not doing Valentine's Day. I understand his reasoning, but whenever Feb 14th rolls around and we're not doing anything, or I don't have a gift, I get really sad ;__; And I can't even get sad at Adam because he *was* upfront about it. It's a bit irrational, really, it's not like Adam never buys me flowers or chocolates or takes me to dinner, or tells me he loves me or anything.
But this year I told him that I don't care that he hates Valentine's Day, that I expect *something*. And if I'm not getting/doing something on the day, then I expect something on the weekend or something. I'll come up with something for him.
Ugh, I feel a bit silly making a big deal about it, but I don't want to feel sad again on the day again for no reason.
