something else that happened to me these past 7 days:

- I was stopped at airport security for allegedly carrying snakes in my tote bag.

- Then screened for explosives.

no idea. I did look like death though, after spending a sleepless night on the floor of a closed airport after spending an evening crushed to death in a mosh pit after spending a day sitting on the cold concrete after having two hours sleep at a friend's place in melbourne after spending an evening in a mosh pit and a day on a cold concrete step. WHEW.

I think it's awesomely funny they thought you were bringing SNAKES ON A PLANE. But not awesomely funny they were so stupid as to think you were bringing SNAKES ON A PLANE.

Screened for explosives? Did they think you'd stuffed the snakes with C4, too, or something?

The explosives bit was a random check, but the random check guy would have seen me come through the screening bit. SO IT WASN'T RANDOM AT ALL.

I think it's funny they think I would have had snakes in an open tote bag. :(

I guess they can't be too careful, after this jackass smuggled a monkey (http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/08/08/america/NA-ODD-Monkey-on-a-Plane.php) on a plane.

I'm just imagining the conversation between the security agents.
"No, sir, there were no snakes."
"Really... no snakes... well, what else could it have been?"

I feel terrible for you, but I'm still laughing. How ridiculous.

Did they say how/why they thought you had SNAKES, of all things?

Oh you know the part of the airport where you go through the metal detector then stick your handluggage on the conveyor and they look at an x-ray type thing of your hand luggage?

Well, they made me put my tote bag through a couple of times, then called in the head of security who told them to let it go. I asked them what they thought I had, and they said 'we all think it looks like you have snakes in your bag'.

I still can't think of what it could be, except for maybe

o_chan's belt that was in the bag.
