I saw the most glorious rainbow the other day. I live in a pretty flat area and I was driving through the farms and it was the first time I saw an entire rainbow, end to end. Both ends were in a field and it just looked amazing. :)

I don't think I'd ever seen one end of a rainbow, let alone both!

Bill and Cheryl have officially split. Bill is tearing up the town and Adam is at his place now because he feels lonely and Adam is worried about him. I think they've set up some sort of schedule so that someone is with Bill every night and someone is looking after him when he goes out or the guy is just going to get hurt.

He is still bugging the crap out of me, so I've just been avoiding him. There's something about him that makes Adam all silly. It's like Adam becomes silly to relate to him, and to impress him. Only around Bill does Liam get fed chocolate covered biscuits and icecream. Or get turned upside down after eating.

Bill.. I had to ask him to keep his pants on at my wedding. It was not a small intimate wedding. It was 350 people and full of judgmental Asian elderly types and I still had to ask him to keep his pants on. I swear I've seen his penis more than anyone else's. Third only to Adam and Liam.

My SIL Amy had to take him to the solicitor's today, because Cheryl said she wouldn't chase the house and Bill wanted it in writing. My MIL footed the bill, for no particular reason except she felt sorry for him. I think I'm being mean - everyone else is feeling sorry for him but it takes two, and I know he's sad, but if he acted his age more often around me maybe I'd feel some sympathy.

I ended up baby sitting Liam, his cousin Jimmy (Chloe had to go to uni), and Amy's two kids today. They were all well behaved but I could never run a daycare. Ever. Liam is totally social now. Goes up to the other kids and tries to talk to them and share toys. He loves Tilly and she kept doing things to make him laugh. It was super cute. Hamish can't move yet, so he just played with Liam's feet and Liam thought that was okay too.

Adam worked out how much he earned last year and it was massively eye opening. Like O___________O. Basically he earned as much as he would have working at McDonald's. I didn't work at all, so he and I survived, with a baby and a mortgage, on one McDonald's wage. Oh, and the $5000 government grant for having a baby, which helped lots.

Besides that month and a half where we had like, no money, I think we did alright :) I look around at our 'stuff' and Liam's got pretty much top of the line everything, except for his highchair (the Ikea one was more practical) and his pram (umm, I was not going to pay the same amount for my pram as I did my car) and his daily clothes might be a bit pedestrian, they're good quality and his nice clothes are very nice.

Liam eats very well and uses high quality nappies and has tons of books and toys, so in terms of material things, WE CAN AFFORD HIM. :D

I managed to buy lots of nice clothes and shoes this year as well, just from shopping online and at factory outlets. I've just had to learn how to use my money better. So, once Adam gets a better job, or I go back to work, WE WILL HAVE ALL THE MONEY. (or at least, more money :p ) It's made me feel good about my marriage too, that if we didn't fight over our dire money situation now, we probably won't have money issues in the future.

I had a bit of a cry yesterday though, one of those things that just snowball. I found out that one of my favourite tv programs QI was bring their stage show to Melbourne. Hooray! Then found our tickets were $100-$150. I just couldn't justify spending that money to watch a bunch of people have a chat on stage.

Then I was thinking about what I *could* justify that money on and I thought of all the times I missed out on seeing Cirque du Soleil because while $100 might be okay for a ticket, taking the whole family and spending $500 on a night out seemed ridiculous to me.

My rich friend Sudha and her husband Hasan? The ones that are overseas every weekend? I saw them last week with my friend Hieu (who just came back from volunteering in Tanzania - first operation she observed was a gall bladder removal without general anesthetic :() and they were talking about the times they saw Chicago on Broadway. Hieu really enjoyed it and Sudha said it was okay, then was all 'haha, Hasan got hungry halfway through so he just left and I found him eating a kebab down the street afterwards'. IT GOT ME SO MAD THAT YOU COULD BE SO BLASE ABOUT SEEING A SHOW ON BROADWAY THAT YOU COULD JUST GET UP AND GO EAT A KEBAB.

So then I was crying about the unfairness of that, and how I never got to go anywhere or see anything because it was impossible to drag Adam out anywhere, and even when I do, he just wants to go home.

But anyway, I got over it by getting online and making a list of all the things I *can* do that don't cost very much - like see the Tutankamen exhibition at the museum - and I'm just going to do them during the week without Adam.

We went to Chinabar Signature for my mother's birthday. It's an Asian buffet, with every type of Asian food possibly imaginable. It was $59 a head, which seems worth it, except, well, you only have one belly and even if you wanted to eat everything you couldn't.

They have sushi, and lots of sashimi, they have lots of curries, and dim sum, peking duck, hot pot, congee, roast porks, various soups, stir fries, lots and lots of seafood, fried foods and more little petit four desserts than I have ever seen in my life. There must have been at least 30 types of dessert.

By the time I had eaten 6 peking ducks and 6 oysters and a whole heap of salmon sashimi I didn't have much more room, but I managed to cram in lots and lots of dumplings, a shark fin soup, chocolate mousse, a crepe, some carrot cake, some smoked salmon, a heap of prawn salad and scallop salad, and much much more.

SO MUCH FOR BEING POOR. Best fed poor person that ever lived.
