I was really sick yesterday so Adam took Liam to visit his mates so I could get some rest.
Adam left Liam's bag at home, so was at a loss as to what to feed Liam for his lunch. Didn't call me, decided to feed him a crumpet with butter. For those of you unaware of crumpets, they look like
this.
Sounded like a solid plan.
Except store-bought crumpets have Preservative 282 in them. I don't pay attention to many numbers on ingredient lists, except that one. It drives kids round the bend. Some kids that were diagnosed with ADHD were found to just be intolerant of 282 - taken out of their diet, they were lovely kids again!
Liam was wired. Crazy wired. Like, screaming at the top of his lungs and won't go to sleep until 1am wired. That's never happened, ever. I had him in bed with me, trying to breastfeed him off to sleep - which is a 100% surefire way of getting him to sleep, and he still wouldn't fall asleep. I was still sick and breastfeeding while sick is not fun, but breastfeeding while Liam's pulling my hair and pulling off to cry every so often? SUPER NOT FUN.
His arms were windmilling and every so often he'd stop to look at them like he'd never seen them before - it was like he was high - he used to do that when he was 5 months old, but not now. He had no control over his arms and kept bashing his hands accidentally into his head. He would make really low OHHHHHHH noises like he'd never done before. He was so tired and kept rubbing his eyes but just couldn't fall asleep. When he finally fell asleep, he was still kicking and his hands were still playing with Adam's pillow!
He then woke up at 3, and at 5, and at 7 for the day. Oh man. Me, still sick.
Tonight, I put him in bed and stroked his back and he fell off to sleep before the music on his glowing seahorse ended. Nary a peep.
WHY THE HELL DO THEY STILL USE THAT FREAKIN PRESERVATIVE?
