Apr. 30th, 2011 03:52 pmLiam is really testing my patience. Now when I try to pat him to sleep he protests so loud and so adamantly that I swear he's going to be one of these kids that tantrums so much they throw up.
This morning, nothing I could do could stop him from crying. I picked him up and hugged him and talked to him and smiled at him but he wouldn't have a bar of it, he was on his crying roll. No tears, just large gulps and screaming. There was nothing else wrong with him - it started as soon as I tucked his blanket in. Normally he calms down when I leave the room - screams when I come in, which leads me to believe he's angry at *me*, but this morning he just wouldn't stop.
He did it yesterday to me as well. This afternoon, I just flat out refused to pick him up because I could tell he was exhausted - rubbing eyes, yawning, the works. He was so so so angry but he fell asleep after about 10 minutes. I think he had just worked out that if he yelled for long enough I'd pick him up eventually. He's 5 months old, he shouldn't be able to do this.
He's been an angel at night though - and sleeps 13 hours all up during the night so I'm okay with that.
Anyway, when Liam was born they told me he had a tongue tie and I had to get it snipped. Apparently it would cause trouble with him sticking out his tongue, with his speech, with french kissing! Liam latched on the boob fine so I just left it.

I think he'll be fine. Goddamn it, if he wasn't so cute I'd sell him on Ebay.
Oh, and I think this boy is going to eat me out of house and home. I let him spoon feed himself - put the stuff on the spoon and hand him the spoon. He protests when I stop with the food, but I don't want to give him much food. Surely a whole apple is enough for a 5 month boy to eat for lunch straight after a big breastfeed?
