i am so fucking frustrated.

I can't even do question 1 of my latest maths assignment AND IT LOOKS SO FUCKING EASY.

FIND THE LOCAL MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM POINTS OF THE FUNCTION:

f(x,y) = x2 + y2 + 1/(x2y2)

WHY I CAN'T I DO IT. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

I have half a page of workings that go nowhere.

I WANT TO GO ALL BANKAI ON ITS ASS.

I've forgotten all the math I ever knew since I finished calculus last year or I'd try and help. :|

I know I know how to do this. I looked at the wiki page to jog my memory which helped. But am unsure if you need to diff wrt x, y or both.

wrt x the function becomes
df/dx= 2x - 2y-2x-3
if that helps. Probably not! :D

I used to be so good at maths, but I've forgotten EVERYTHING. It is not like riding a bike is it!
