random things

I had no idea that the reason why I've never seen a hamster in Australia was because they were banned.

It's Autumn here now which is basically the start of Tina-Tries-To-Find-A-Pair-of-Winter-Boots season. It's been 6 years. I've yet to find a pair that I've liked. This year the fashion seems to be the Pixie Boot. However, if you're short and stumpy like I am, it makes you look more like a gnome than a pixie. Boo.

Bloc Party tickets go on sale March 16.

Saw Borat for the first time at the Moonlight Cinema last night. Did not get attacked by mosquitoes or the fruit bats at the Botanic Gardens, amazingly. Was very nice. (nahss?)

Young & Restless + Mint Chicks playing at Click Click tomorrow night. It's 90s pop night at Click Click next Saturday. I hate Click Click. They give you a free drink if you wear fluoro. That's what kind of scene it is, gah. They're all really young and why are my friends going? I vote we pull out all my old 90s CDs and dance at my house.

Scene last night at tutoring:

8th grade boy: Tina, I hate homework.
Tina: Well to be honest, I've never known anyone who likes it.
8th grade boy: Emos like it.
Tina: Why would they like it?
8th grade boy: Because of the intense suffering it brings.

I have a lot of chocolate. Now I just need a bit of swiss cheese and all will be perfect.

I didn't know they were banned. I wonder why.

I want knee high lace up boots. >| I have never been able to find a decent pair. They seem to only make them for people with big calfs. >O

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
They're banned because they're not native to Australia, and if they get out and form little feral colonies, we're screwed.

I saw the most gorgeous knee high lace up boots on a girl on valentine's day. She let me hump them, but I was too tired to. I should ask her where she got them because she seemed fairly thin.

I'd want to wear them too if I wasn't already over my goth stage.

[identity profile] bouncy.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh. That makes sense. But they are cute. That is a shame.

I'm not in a goth stage. >| I just want them. :D

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I also used to want them because Daria wore them. Did you watch Daria?

You would look good in them. With my current wardrobe? I would look like a goth lolita / visual kei wannabe.

Which is not what I want to look like.

[identity profile] bouncy.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! I used to love that show. I loved the artist chick best friend.

Ahahahaha. Geez. Now I'm attempting to picture that.

You mean Jane? I liked Jane too. I had an intense crush on Jane's brother Trent.

[identity profile] bouncy.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh. He was hot. :D

[identity profile] natatree.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
TRENT <3

[identity profile] oohasparklie.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
LOL Sounds like the 8th graders know something Livejournalers don't.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Haha it was extra funny because the boy's a bit slow, a bit dim, so it was nice to hear something witty come out of his mouth.

[identity profile] sakurashadow59.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Someone needs to explain marketing and bumper stickers to this child. He could make a mint.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:09 am (UTC)(link)

You mean like 'I'd like emo grass. It'd cut itself.' type slogans?

:D

That's a lovely icon.

[identity profile] sakurashadow59.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly those kinds of slogans. Then he could sell them online and in freshman college dorms across the globe.

*hugs Shunri* It's one of my favorite Shunri photos, second only to the time he was showing how much he'd improved in cup-sucking.

I prefer cheddar cheese with chocolate. And sometimes some nice apples, too. Apples, cheddar cheese and chocolate. Yummy snack.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I just like swiss cheese in general. It's my favourite. Maybe with hazelnuts.

Mmm.. apples. Or maybe grapes.

I like camembert with dates.

[identity profile] dreamiflame.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
I like grapes much better when I have them only once in a while, probably from having really bad quality ones with school lunch for so many years.

But do you have camembert by yourself, or only with the people you're seeing? ;) Yes, I know, bad pun. I've never had camembert, honestly, and I kinda hate dates. The fruit, I mean. I don't often have the other.

Hamsters are banned in Australia? Wow.

String cheese with apricot preserves is really good.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, we have real strict conservation and quarantine laws. Helps that we're an island.

I really don't like string cheese :(

[identity profile] o-chan.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not going :'(

[identity profile] o-chan.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'm going to Phillip Island tonight.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I thought you meant you weren't going to Bloc Party. Phew!

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
If you do go see the penguins, which I doubt, but if you do, say hi to them for me :p

[identity profile] o-chan.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
aahahahhahaah will do. I'll take photos and all :P

[identity profile] natatree.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
The commentary of your tutoring made me LOL.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
:) Made me laugh too! Silly kids.

[identity profile] maxpower.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
The Click Click crowd makes me feel old and very uncool.

[identity profile] wickedcherub.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Gah. Isn't there somewhere else we can go on a Saturday night?

If I stay home I might explode.

But you're def. going tomorrow night yeah? Who else is going?

[identity profile] maxpower.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
But but but... YOUNG & RESTLESSSSSSSSSSSSS! :[ We're only going for the band (and maybe karaoke. Also, free drinks).

[identity profile] maxpower.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
